Sue's Therapeutic Approach
As a psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience, I am dedicated to providing a supportive and non-judgmental space for individuals, women, children, young adults, and teens to explore their thoughts and emotions. My approach integrates a combination of helping a client understand how their past has influenced who they have become, while also learning ways to get unstuck and become the version of who they would like to be by gaining insight, learning new tools and skills to use in the present, and learning how to reflect and respond in a manner that is congruent with who they'd like to be. This requires dedication to the change process and willingness to learn, grow, and let go of parts of themselves that no longer serve you so you can heal.
Together, we will use a combination of modalities with the goal of helping you grow: psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness stress reduction tools and skills, talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and play therapy to create a comfortable environment for clients to address life changes, grief, and other challenges. I believe in the power of therapy to promote healing and personal growth, and I am committed to helping my clients navigate their unique journeys towards mental and emotional well-being.
